Since I was a kid, I had always fascinated by the tourism and hospitality. It is not because travelling is my hobby nor I travel extensively, but I am keen to discover new location or destination and to know what I has to offer even it is (during those days) through materials such as hard copy encyclopedia , atlas and even my first rotating world globe! 

This was one of the main reason I pursued my tertiary education related to this field. I holds a Diploma in Tourism Management and Bachelor of Science (Hons) Tourism Management from MARA University of Technology (UiTM) , Malaysia and a Master of International Tourism and Hospitality Management from Griffith University, Gold Coast Campus, Australia.  

As I progressed gaining new insights in my studies, my perspective on tourism and hospitality industry had broaden, whereby it is not just about discovering and knowing destinations, even more it is about the rationality behind it - how a destination become popular than others? who stayed and goes there? will or how can these destination sustain this popularity for eternity?? 

Therefore, I grabbed the opportunity to joined UMS  as I believed, I may contribute to the tourism and hospitality from an educational standpoint; moulding young minds through teaching and learning process, and knowledge sharing with the industry and the vast public (even globally) discovered through the research I have involved with.

Afterall, Malaysia and (specifically) Sabah is a country and one of its state blessed with a wide varieties of both natural and cultural resources. Consequently the prospect of its tourism and hospitality industry is promising, the challenge is to ensure is to sustain it to ensure its future viability.
