OUR HISTORY

The IEEE International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Technology (IICAIET) is a premier international platform that brings together researchers, academicians, industry professionals, and innovators to explore the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on engineering and technology. The conference promotes knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the advancement of AI-driven solutions for real-world challenges. 

Conference History – Organized by IEEE Sabah Subsection

• 2025 – 7th conference co-hosted by Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), held at Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia from 26 to 28 August 2025.

• 2024 – 6th conference co-organized by the Artificial Intelligence Research Unit and Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), held at Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia from 26 to 28 August 2024.

• 2023 – 5th conference co-organized by the Artificial Intelligence Research Unit and Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), held at The Pacific Sutera Hotel, Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia from 12 to 14 September 2023.

• 2022 – Due to growing concerns about the increased cases of COVID-19, the 4th conference cancel its physical session and go fully virtual, from 13 to 15 September2022.

• 2021 – 3rd conference co-organized by the Artificial Intelligence Research Unit, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and the Faculty of Robotics and Design, Osaka Institute of Technology (OIT), with the theme "AI and the future of mankind", at Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia from 13 to 15 September 2021.

• 2020 – 2nd conference co-organized by the Artificial Intelligence Research Unit, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and the Faculty of Robotics and Design, Osaka Institute of Technology (OIT), with the theme "AI for the benefit of humanity", at Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia from 26 to 27 September 2020.

• 2018 – IICAIET was established to address the growing role of artificial intelligence in engineering and technological applications, co-organized by the Artificial Intelligence Research Unit, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and the Faculty of Robotics and Design, Osaka Institute of Technology (OIT), at Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia on 8th November 2018.
