CALL FOR FYP COMPETITION 2019 SEM 1 2019/2020

Competitions are a key component of final year project annual events, as they comprise effective means for making rapid progress in specific topics. By posing a challenge to our final year student community, competition organizers contribute to pushing the state of the art in specific subjects and/or to solve problems of practical importance. We invite to all our final year students to submit their final year project to this competition program. We especially encourage competition proposals from emerging fields or new application scenarios relevant to computer science.

HOW TO JOIN?

Please email to FYP Coordinator (soofun@ums.edu.my) for the following details:

• Student name
• Matric no
• Contact H/P
• Email
• Project title
• Competition Track : Research-based / System-based
• Supervisor name

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO BEFORE THE COMPETITION?

1. Prepare a poster size A3 in IEEE format and also an abstract that best describe your project.
2. Email or send the poster (in pdf and ppt) and abstract (in words) to the FYP coordinator (soofun@ums.edu.my) before the 16 DEC 2019, 11 AM.
3. Go to the venue of competition to test your notebook/presentation slides/program with the projector setting on 19 DEC 2019, 2-5pm. (Database Lab for system development-based project 1, MP2A Lab for system development-based, Wireless Lab for research-based project)

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO DURING THE COMPETITION?

1. Prepare well for your presentation.
2. Make sure your notebook and program is fully functional (It should be tested on 19 DEC 2019).
3. Every participants will be given 15 minutes to present their system/research findings, another 5 minutes for Q&A session. Total 20 minutes for each evaluation.
4. Results will be announced during the closing ceremony.
5. Panel’s decision will be final.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO AFTER THE COMPETITION

1. Go to MP2A after the presentation and join the Industrial Talk at 12PM.

2. The closing and awarding ceremony will be held at MP2A Lab, 1230PM.

3. Take group photos with your supervisor and friends.

4. Celebrate the good news with your supervisor and friends.
