YESS! is a place we started because we learned from teens like you that growing up with epilepsy can make things different. Sometimes, it makes the most sense to hear from others who understand.
YESS! is NOT a substitute for getting medical care. It IS about making life with epilepsy a little less bothersome and maybe even a little bit better.
This section lets teens get their questions answered by young adults who have been in similar situations before. There's nothing like hearing from someone who's been through it before. Four-U presents situations like yours and lets you know how others have dealt with it.
Here are questions nurses say they get from teens with epilepsy. We went directly to medical experts for answers on these ones.
There's also a section called.....
Where people with lots of experience answer questions we've heard from teens, but these questions are related to dealing with challenges at school, friends, driving........all that stuff that isn't 'medical'
My Info is a place to keep track of your health, medical cares and write in a journal while you're working things out or keeping track of anything else you don't want to share.
These are private pages (only you can see what you write). You decide whether and what to keep track of. You can enter in your medical info so you can print it out later when you need to (for school, camp, sports, trips...). Maybe you want to start keeping track of your seizures (handy to print and bring to your appointments). There's also a mood tracker (for when you want to look back and see if you're remembering things right)
There are rules for using YESS! Be respectful, participate, ask questions.
To stay safe, don't share your login or password. Also, please don't share your personal information where other members can read it (like on forum posts, public blogs).
The YESS! Guides are college students who are here to keep YESS! safe and a good place for you. They'll let you know (nicely) if something isn't right and how to fix it
You have something to contribute. Use the discussion forum to start a conversation about something that's important to you.
Maybe you want to write a story or about an experience or maybe you just used a great app or website and want to write a review.
It is written by you and for the community!
Tell it in two This is the place to get better at speaking so doctors, nurses, teachers, coaches, etc will listen to you and understand what you need and what you want.
Stay in touch with the YESS! research team. Let us know what's working and what could make YESS! better, more relevant and more engaging.
