There are three different teaching packages available in this toolkit. Choose which to use based on the needs of your audience. Consider combining a presentation with an activity, and use the print resources to supplement the covered material.
The goal of the "Vegetables for Everyone" presentation is to share experiences with growing food crops, and to convince people that they can and should try growing vegetables no matter where they live. Best for audiences with little to no experience growing vegetables or gardening. Presentation should take about 30 minutes, and is best paired with a hands-on activity.
The Get Growing presentation will cover most of the considerations you should make when growing vegetables. Use the How-To Handouts to supplement material covered. Best for audiences with little to no experience growing vegetables or gardening. Presentation should take about 45 minutes.
The Veggies for Containers presentation covers the basics of growing food crops in container gardens, making sure that growing vegetables is accessible to everyone. Use the How-To Handouts to supplement the material covered. Best for audiences with little to no experience growing vegetables or gardening. Presentation should take about 45 minutes.
