The Hackathon

Description: The "hackathon" challenge will present participants with a complex issue in global health today that is related to ethical/cultural dilemmas. The challenge prompts will be sent out to registrants 10 days prior to a deadline by which participants must submit a Zoom recording a presentation outline their solution to the scenario. Judges will evaluate submissions and prizes will be awarded to the top 3 submissions.

Team Size: Anywhere from 1-3 individuals can be on a team. However, the prize money must be split amongst the team if they are to win.

Submission Format: A Zoom recording no longer than 10 minutes of a slide show presentation outlining a unique solution to the challenge.

Eligibility: All University of Minnesota resident physicians and students in the Medical School (both Twin Cities and Duluth), Dental School, Nursing School, and School of Public Health are eligible to participate. Each participant must also have attended AT LEAST 1 workshop for their submission to be considered.

Important Dates: 

Prizes: $500 (1st place), $300 (2nd place), $200 (3rd place)
