Johnstone Educational Foundation Scholarship

The American Institute of Professional Association Group Insurance Administrators (AIPAGIA) is a professional association of insurance administrators who mass-market and service all lines of insurance. The purpose of the organization is to promote a high standard of business principles to gain public confidence and respect.

AIPAGIA established an educational foundation in 1984 for the purpose of providing financial support to college students who are pursuing an education and career in the field of insurance. We would like to award a $2,500 scholarship for 2022.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Student enrolled in Insurance, Risk Management or Related Field

  • Student has completed 60 credit hours or is a junior or higher (Graduate students also qualify)

  • The grade point average must be 3.0 or above for all courses taken

  • Planning a career in the insurance industry

Spencer Scholarship

Undergraduate Spencer scholarships are awarded in the amount of $5,000, with limited $7,500 and $10,000 scholarships awarded to the highest-ranked applicants. Spencer awards scholarships to undergraduate students who meet the following criteria:

  • Must seek a career in Risk Management/Insurance.

  • Must be enrolled at an accredited college/university in the United States or Canada for the full 2022-23 academic year (at least 2 semesters, from September 2022-May 2023).

  • Relevant work/internship experience and leadership skills preferred.

  • Must be majoring/minoring in Risk Management/Insurance or a related field of study (e.g., actuarial science, business, finance, information technology).

  • A Risk Management/Insurance major/minor is preferred, but applicants in related fields of study will be considered.

Norm Ziegler Trailblazer Scholarship

The Norm Ziegler Trailblazer Scholarship, administered by the NAIW Legacy Foundation, awards two individuals $2,000 scholarships annually.

Award Criteria:

  • US citizen and a full-time student attending any college in the US

  • Undergraduate or Graduate student with an emphasis in Insurance, Risk Management and Actuarial Science or related field

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Be a member of the International Association of Insurance Professionals (IAIP), Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS), or have an affiliation with an IAIP Member
