Dr. Kittleson is a professor of medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and director of education in heart failure and transplantation at the Cedars-Sinai Smidt Heart Institute. In addition to her cardiology training, she has a PhD in clinical investigation.
Dr. Kittleson has served on guidelines-writing committees for the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and Heart-Failure Society of America, including the ACC/AHA writing committee for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and the ACC/AHA/HFSA writing committee for heart-failure guidelines. She was a member of the HFSA board of directors from 2027-2024, and the interim editor-in-chief for the Journal of Heart & Lung Transplantation from 2013-2024. Since 2024, she has served as an associate editor for the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. In addition to over 150 peer-reviewed journal articles, Dr. Kittleson has also published a book, Mastering the Art of Patient Care (Springer 2022), essays, and medical-humanities poetry.
