Non-ACGME-accredited, 1 year advanced fellowship
The Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship at the University of Minnesota is a one-year program compromised of 60% cardiac MRI and 30% cardiac CT. The remaining 10% of training can be dedicated to interventional echocardiography, research, or additional training in the above modalities. The fellowship provides level III training in cardiac MRI and cardiac CT.
We have one of the highest volume programs in the country, performing around 1800 CMR and 2100 CCT studies annually, spanning the entire spectrum of clinical indications. The fellow will have the opportunity to participate in multidisciplinary conferences including stress testing/invasive coronary angiography correlation conference, sarcoidosis and genetic cardiomyopathy clinical-imaging conference, multimodality imaging lecture series, valve multidisciplinary conference, echocardiography lecture series, and ACHD conference. There will also be opportunities to participate with a leading clinical imaging research group with NIH grants and funding from several industry partners as well as a large volume of cardiac imaging publications in top journals every year.
Our fellowship graduates go on to have successful careers in both academic and private practice, often with leadership roles in cardiac imaging. Typically, we have one funded position per year; graduates from US or foreign cardiology fellowships are eligible to apply. Additional research fellowship positions may also be available.
The Advanced Imaging Fellowship is a one year, non-ACGME accredited position. To be eligible, applicants must have successfully completed three years of training in an ACGME-accredited Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship. Interested candidates are encouraged to contact the fellowship administrator at advancedcvd@umn.edu.
