Every year, the Send Off celebrates graduates' accomplishments, creates a signature student experience building on existing U of M traditions and creating new ones, and provides a meaningful and informative transitional experience from student to proud alumni.
The Alumni Career Design Fellowship focuses on the self-discovery process related to career transitions. The format is a 30-day online program that includes short videos, an accountability partner, small group discussions, and a dedicated career design expert. The course begins April 5, 2025.
In the Summer 2024 issue of Minnesota Alumni, you’ll find fascinating stories about U of M alumni, from the 1960s to the 2020s, who have used their skills and affinities to become “storytellers” in fields ranging from publishing to acting to art and more. There’s also a historical overview of the formative years Hubert H. Humphrey spent at the U of M before his graduation in the 1930s.

UMAA is looking to identify alumni entrepreneurs. Doing so will help the University and the UMAA provide targeted programs, services and partnerships to help their businesses succeed. Materials have been created to support these efforts. It is our hope that alumni entrepreneurs will join the MN Alumni Market to sell their products and services and to expand their reach to the alumni community.

The 2023 Alumni Awards Affair is held Thursday, September 28th at McNamara Alumni Center. Awards include: Alumni Service Awards, Distinguished Leadership Award for Internationals, Outstanding Alumni Network, Outstanding Alumni Society, Program Extraordinaire, Advocate of the Year, U40 Alumni Leader Awards, Entrepreneurial Spirit Award, and On the Rise Award.
The Maroon Shirt® is the official members-only shirt from the Alumni Association. The limited-edition shirt is released each fall with a new design and vaulted before the end of the year.

Alumni Reflections is an oral history project for the University of Minnesota, produced by UMAA in partnership with PCI. Outreach includes alumni from the Twin Cities and Rochester campuses between April 19 and October 14, 2022.
On May 4, 2022 graduates are invited to the Send Off, THE official welcome to the UMN alumni community, hosted by the Alumni Association where they can enjoy free food, win prizes, pick up a graduation gift, relax with PAWS, take their picture with Goldy and Paul Bunyan's Axe, and explore ways to stay connected as alumni.
