My name is Kathleen and I’m the second year Clinical Chemistry fellow doing research with the Thomas Lab. I earned my MD at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine before completing four years of General Surgery residency and a postdoctoral Transplant Nephrology research fellowship at the University of New Mexico. I then completed an AP/CP Pathology residency at the University of Louisville and University of New Mexico followed by a Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine fellowship, also at the University of New Mexico. I then worked as a laboratory and medical director for five years and earned an MBA from the University of New Mexico before deciding to specialize in Chemistry. When I’m not in the lab, I’m hanging out with my dog, marathon training, playing bagpipes, spending time outdoors, or reading.
