It's the first edition of the UMN SNMA Black History Month Podcast - Highlighting Black Organizations in the Twin Cities. Join us as we learn more about the African American Leadership Forum (AALF). The African American Leadership Forum (AALF) is a cross-sector network of Black Thought Leaders, Influencers, Builders, and Ambassadors. Their mission is to foster a just society that works better for all Americans by addressing disparities in Economic Development, Health & Wellness, Education, and Family & Culture in the Black community, and convening, supporting and developing the leadership capacity of Black leaders across Minnesota. WEEK 2: Juxtaposition Arts

We're excited to be giving you another episode of the SNMA Black History Month Podcast - Highlighting Black Organizations in the Twin Cities. This week we have Juxtaposition Arts! Juxtaposition Arts is a teen-staffed art and design center, gallery, retail shop, and artists’ studio space in North Minneapolis. Their mission is to develops community by engaging and employing young urban artists in hands-on education initiatives that create pathways to self-sufficiency while actualizing creative power. For the last week of BHM, the Student National Medical Association at the University of Minnesota Medical School wanted to do a special episode. We will be interviewing Dr. Charles E. Crutchfield Sr. He is the first Black OB/GYN to practice in MN, and we're excited to share his journey to medicine, his challenges, and his successes. You don't want to miss this episode!

The U of MN Chapters of the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) & White Coats for Black Lives (WC4BL) are proud to present: Preparing the Next Generation of Physician Leaders: An Advocacy Workshop with Dr. Nathan Chomilo & Dr. Janna Gewirtz O'Brien on Tuesday, February 9th from 6 - 7:30 PM.


After an introductory presentation led by Dr. Chomilo, there will be an interactive portion for attendees to practice planning and acting for change. Our goal is for everyone to leave the workshop with more developed skills in advocacy.
