There are many ways to get involved, whether you have 5 minutes or 5 hours:
Visit a park (or many) this summer and take photos of signs you see there. Submit photos of:
Regular NPS signs
Censorship, such as blank spaces where a sign was removed
Creative resistance, such as protest art at an NPS site
Use our Priorities Storymap to know what parks to visit to document signs at risk of removal.
Use our SOS Archive to track if signs may have been censored or altered at an NPS site.
Answer the Resistance Rangers’ call: Adopt a Sign, Save a Story, and earn your Resistance Ranger Badge.
Support Avenging the Ancestors Coalition (ATAC)’s campaign to protect the history at the President’s House Site.
Sign up for an America 433+ event:
Our sister project Citizen Historians for the Smithsonian is working to preserve photographs of panels and exhibits at Smithsonian institutions. Join their volunteer network or sign up for their newsletter!
Sign up for newsletters from our partners at the Data Rescue Project; that’s where we occasionally share our project updates, and you’ll also learn about other at-risk government information and efforts to preserve it.
