Our logo was designed to capture the mission of the RESILIENCE Research Group within a single, memorable image. Because our projects span diverse topics and contexts, the logo needed to be versatile while still reflecting our shared values. At the heart of our work is collaboration—the principle we believe best embodies the group’s overarching objectives. To symbolize this, we chose the open hand, a universal emblem of openness, connection, and collective effort.
Our logo brings together four symbolic elements, each representing a core focus of our work. The teal silhouettes of two people facing one another highlight our commitment to relationality and underscore how community assets can serve as powerful pathways to suicide prevention. At the center, the red heart reflects our dedication to advancing HIV prevention research and improving the quality of life for those living with HIV. The purple open hands convey our belief in collaboration, emphasizing that collective efforts are essential to addressing suicide risk. Finally, the blue semicircle represents our research on substance use prevention and recovery, symbolizing support, protection, and the journey toward healing. Together, these elements embody the values and priorities that guide our research and community partnerships.
