The first iteration of the Quantum Phenomena program was held in winter of 2023 starting on January 3 and ending on January 13. At the time, the program was designed for senior year undergraduate students only and we had 25 students who attended from Kyung Hee University and the University of Minnesota.
At the end of the program, students were asked to share their assessment of the program. Based on their feedback, it was clear that the blend of learning and hands-on components was much appreciated, and the site visits to 3M and Seagate were particularly useful. Reviews ranged from the general to the very specific:
"Lots of useful information about semiconductors and quantum mechanics"
"Site visits were relevant and interesting"
"Lab tours and computer labs were helpful"
"Enjoyed the wide coverage of different topics"
"The industry perspectives and facility tours were fantastic! Definitely would have loved even more of these. The lab tours were wonderful, and talking to the PhD students on their research was wonderful as a rising senior."
