Stephanie Swanson, PharmD: NonPatient Care Elective Course Director

I am excited to be in the midst of the semester with my new role. After completing my PharmD and the Pharmaceutical Care Leadership residency with the University of Minnesota, I joined the College of Pharmacy as an instructor this past summer. I currently serve as the course director for the third year skills sequence that includes the final semester of lab in the fall and the outcomes course in the spring. In addition, I am the course director for the Non-Patient Care Elective APPE rotations and work closely with the other course directors, especially Ann Phillbrick as the Patient Care Elective course director, and the experiential education team to support students throughout their APPE rotation experiences. I will be spending time at the Mill City clinic as an MTM pharmacist starting in December and look forward to incorporating patient care into my role.

I believe my work with third year students on the didactic side is vital to their success on rotations and appreciate having the opportunity to be involved with the “before” and “during” rotation aspects of the curriculum. I look forward to learning more from you as preceptors to help best prepare our students to make the most of their rotation experiences!
