Welcome!
The Humphrey School of Public Affairs Junior Summer Institute (JSI) is a rigorous seven-week academic and experiential learning program that prepares undergraduate students to thrive in graduate programs and launch careers in public service.
Open to students who are entering their senior year of undergraduate study, the JSI is part of the Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Fellowship Program, which is committed to promoting the inclusion of underrepresented groups in master’s degree programs and careers in public service.
Letter from the Dean of the Humphrey School of Public Affairs
Greetings JSI Humphrey Fellows,
I would like to welcome you to the 2023 Junior Summer Institute program at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs; we are thrilled to have you here! My name is Nisha Botchwey and I am the Dean of the Humphrey School of Public Affairs. I would like to extend a warm welcome from the University of Minnesota! We look forward to spending seven weeks getting to know you and providing any assistance you may need while participating in your Junior Summer Institute (JSI).
This site will serve as a resource and record of our 2023 cohort activities. We will be adding different resources and pictures to this site as we build our program and complete activities.
I wish you all an engaging, welcoming, and successful summer program. You bring to us unique talents and contributions that will enrich the School community, University, and beyond. We, at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, are thrilled to have you join us.
We are so glad you are here!
