Overview:
My research interests are in the general area of control systems, mechatronics and fluid power with applications to energy systems, transportation and robotics.
Research Labs:
Mechatronics and Intelligent Machines Lab (MIML)
Fluid Power Research Lab (FPRL) [MechEng 451/453]
News:
10.2023 Perry Li received the prestigious ASME Robert E. Koski Medal for advancements in fluid power at the ASME/Bath Symposium on Fluid Power and Motion Control (FPMC) in Sarasota FL. It is a great honor to follow the footsteps of fluid power luminaries and to receive the award personally from the family of Bob Koski, Founder of Sun Hydraulics.
9.2023 Ravi Sah and Mahmud Ibrahim have joined the research group as PhD students. Welcome, Ravi and Mahmud.
8.2023 Congratulations to Dr. Arpan Chatteejee for receiving his PhD degree. Arpan defended his dissertation - "Precise Motion Control of Hydraulic Hydraulic-Electric Architecture" in May 2023. He is now at Intuitive (previously Intuitive Surgical) in Sunnyvale, CA.
7.2023 Zachary Clark, Jonah Fuhrman, Dani Putra and Jacob Buksa have recently join our research group. Zachary, Jonah and Dani are u/g researchers, and Jacob is the Mechanical Engineer member of the HHEA project. Welcome!
7.1.2023 - Congratulations to Zihao Chen for winning the Sandia National Lab's FOSWEC Digital Twin Control Competition! Zihao designed a controller that captured the largest amount of energy for a Wave Energy Converter model. The prize is the opportunity to attend WEC DESIGN, MODELING, CONTROL, AND TESTING WORKSHOP to be held in Maryland in September 2023.
6.1.2023 - Our group presented two papers at the American Control Conference in San Diego.
