Why we created this database

A brief history

This 3-month project was designed to help instructors of French expand their access to a new genre of interactive media : TikTok. To do this, we created an openly accessible database of innovative and authentic resources for French language teachers and researchers.

You will find a variety of video clips from TikTok and Instagram, organized under the main topics usually covered in beginning French courses. 

This document will help you navigate the database and give you an idea of what you can expect to find in it! 

Next step

We are currently studying the impact of using TikTok at different levels in the French-language classroom. Specifically, we are interested in understanding its possible benefits for learners in terms of cultural and sociolinguistic awareness, pronunciation gains, communicative and interpretive skills, and engagement.
