Open Textbooks for Reading Lists

Our Community of Practice is collecting examples of open textbooks which appear on reading lists at UK and Irish higher education institutions. 

On this page you can find lists of open books on reading lists categorised under broad subject headings. The spreadsheets show which institutions are using the books, of which we're aware, along with details such as the book's licence and a link to the source. We hope that by sharing these lists we can encourage others to adopt more open textbooks.

We welcome data from other higher education institutions and if you have titles on your reading lists which are not on the spreadsheets or you would like us to add the name of your institution against some titles, please let us know via the 'share your suggestions' spreadsheet. If you have a large number of items, please provide a link to a spreadsheet on the 'share your suggestions' document instead. Please provide data for the fields listed on our spreadsheet as this will speed up the process. 

Data from the suggestions spreadsheet will be transferred to the website on a regular basis. In the future, we hope to engage our Community of Practice with refining the lists, as well as integrating this information with the Open Textbook Library. Stay tuned to the JiscMail listserv for more.
