Mindfulness for Students

Who are we?

We are a non-denominational meditation group run by UMN students. Through our meetings we practice kindness and connection towards our bodies, minds, spirits, and community. We warmly welcome any students, staff, faculty, alum, and community members to attend our meetings.

No prior meditation experience is needed, and newcomers are welcome anytime. No registration or payment is required.

Co-Presidents: Maria Arriola & Aidan Sponheim

Officers: Elizabeth Zanmiller

What do we do?

Each one hour meeting will be flexibly structured around this outline:

  • Land acknowledgement that the University stands on the homelands of the Dakota people

  • Gentle movement

  • 20 minute meditation

  • Group share

  • Announcements

  • Mindful closing

Note: For Fall 2020 we are tentatively deciding to pause inviting local meditation teachers to our meetings. While this has been a very special part of the Mindfulness Club experience in the past, this decision is in part to ease the work in running the club for club officers during these times. We look forward to resuming inviting local meditation teachers when the time is right!

When do we meet?

Our club will be on hiatus for Spring 2021.
