Call for Sessions and Presentations Now Closed

We received over 140 session and presentation proposals from a wide variety of sectors and organizations including local, state, Tribal and federal government, academia, the private sector, non-profits, and community-based organizations.

We accepted ideas for:

Workshops and trainings
Working sessions
Organized symposia
Individual lightning talks, oral presentations, and poster presentations
Groups of lightning talks and oral presentations for full sessions

The submissions are currently with the Program Committee for review. We will release a draft agenda outline by mid-July.

Cross Cutting Conference Themes

The conference program will be organized around several cross-cutting conference themes:

Actionable Climate Science

Integrating traditional ecological knowledge, community science, and new climate research, models, and tools to support climate adaptation and resilience

Cascading Climate Impacts

Adaptation solutions that address climate change impacts in the context of multiple societal, environmental and economic challenges and drivers of risk and vulnerability

Collaborative Climate Action

Examples of new and evolving multi-sector, multi-jurisdictional, and multi-disciplinary collaboratives, initiatives, and partnership approaches to adaptation and resilience

Effective Climate Communications and Engagement

Increasing capacity by effectively communicating risks, opportunity, resources, and best practices for community engagement and empowerment

Equitable Adaptation

Integrating climate resilience with parallel social movements to advance community capacity and grapple with profound questions of place, ethics, equity, and justice

Financial Solutions

Funding climate adaptation and resilience through public, private, philanthropic, and community-led finance mechanisms

Policy, Governance and Law

Building towards transformative change through effective and inclusive governance and decision-making processes

Financial Support for Conference Speakers

Confirmed conference speakers will receive a $50 registration discount. The discount code will be provided when speakers are confirmed this summer.

We will offer a limited number of travel scholarships to provide support for individuals who otherwise would not be able to attend the conference. Scholarships will be open to local government staff and elected officials, nonprofit organizations, community-based organizations, Tribal representatives and other community leaders. Sign up for our conference mailing list to receive notification when the application process is opened.

The total available funding for scholarships and the number of scholarships we are able to provide will be, to some extent, dependent upon sponsorships from conference supporters.
