Weekly Homework Packets
In fourth grade, all students are given weekly homework packets that they can complete at their own pace throughout the entirety of the following week. We will scaffold these packets to include one additional subject each week as we start the year. The front of the packet will include a checklist where students are able to plan out their week of homework and practice time management skills. These homework packets will eventually come to include:
- Read 20 minutes each night
- Spelling practice
- Vocabulary crossword
- Reading passage and comprehension questions
- Home Connections math practice (from Bridges curriculum)
All homework packets are due on the last day of school each week, normally a Friday. Part of "earning" Fun Friday time each week is through homework completion, meaning they are completed using "best effort" and turned in on time.
***In addition, we encourage all students to practice their fact fluency and complete recommended IXL skills in ELA and math.
