4-H Awards

Project Records

Record books will be evaluated by a judge for 2020. Record books are due by 4:30 on Friday, October 16th.

Official 4-H Record Book Covers are available for $5.00 from the Extension Office.

Project Record disks and display plaques will be given out at the county achievement event. If you are in need of a display plaque, please contact the office. The first plaque is free. Additional plaques are available for $5.00.

Outstanding Awards

Due to the Extension Office by 4:30 on Friday, October 16th.

Longtime 4-H'er

  • Completed 11th grade or above

  • 4-H member for seven or more years

  • 3 or more years of youth leadership experience

This award is usually given to someone just finishing their last year of 4-H. Candidates of this award MUST have been active on a club and county level. Candidates should have held offices, been involved in committees and worked hard to promote 4-H at both a club and county level. Personal growth from 4-H involvement should be easily documented.

Youth Leader

  • Completed 9th grade or above

  • 4-H member for five or more years

  • 2 or more years of youth leadership

Candidates for this award should be actively involved on a club level, but may be just starting to get involved on a county level. Candidates should have held club leadership positions, served on committees and worked hard within the club. Candidates should be working, or worked, on at least two county level committees or activities.

Cooperator

  • Completed 7th grade or above

  • 4-H member for three or more years

  • 1 year of youth leadership experience

This award is given to someone that has been extremely helpful and cooperative during the past year. This is an incentive type of award to encourage someone to keep up their hard work on a club and county level. Candidates generally have been more active on a club level than on a county level.

Minnesota 4-H Key Award

Due to the Extension Office by 4:30 on Friday, October 16th.


Eligibility Guidelines

  • Must have completed your sophomore year in high school

  • Be a 4-H member for at least five years

  • Have at least three years of active 4-H youth leadership

  • Must meet seven of nine leadership requirements (see application/information sheet for details)

Friend of 4-H

Due to the Extension Office by 4:30 on Friday, October 16th.

Do you want to show your appreciation for those who have helped you, your club, project or county programs? Nominate them for the Friend of 4-H Award!

County Fair Awards

County Fair Champion awards are handed out at the county achievement night, typically held in October. Some awards will still be given out at the County Fair Awards Program, but not all. County Fair and WOW Day champions who do not receive an award at the fair will receive them at the county achievement night.

McCamus Scholarship

  • Applicants must come from the Senior High School class.

  • Applicants must be 4-H Youth Leaders.

  • Applicants must be members of 4-H clubs affiliated with the Kandiyohi County 4-H Leader's Council

  • The money awarded must be used for advanced education.

Applications are due to the Extension Office by 4:30 on July 1st.
