We will learn about current co-design work with genAI, ranging from projects in early to late stages of the process, with particular attention to how teams are navigating the emerging opportunities, tensions, and challenges introduced by genAI.
We will establish a shared understanding of co-design, edtech, and genAI experiences, practices, and policies across the globe that might inform work at the intersection of these areas. This will include questions of participation, AI literacy, decision-making and educational values.
We will develop a set of clear guiding principles and practices that can support more intentional, reflective and equitable uses of genAI within co-design processes and educational technology development.
Range of co-design experience: We have planned for our workshop to be engaging for participants with varying levels of experience with co-design and genAI, ranging from minimal experience with co-design to substantial experience with co-design using genAI specifically.
Diverse disciplinary backgrounds: We invite participants from a variety of backgrounds who are interested in co-design with genAI. Researchers, practitioners, developers, and industry professionals from relevant fields will be welcome at our workshop.
International focus: Given the international focus of our workshop, we hope to include participants from multiple institutions and countries not simply to broaden geographic representation, but to avoid narrow perspectives and instead center a plurality of voices, experiences, and assumptions.
