The IAR functions as a repository housing a collection of various research and clinical isolates that can be requested by University investigators for research purposes. These samples are stored appropriately to maintain sample integrity until requested for internal or external distribution. Samples banked in the repository may be retrieved and distributed based on specific needs.

Rates for storage per year for 2025 are as follows:

Short Term Storage- Up to one year = per box (2"-100 isolates) $70.00, per rack (16, 2" boxes) $1000.00

Long Term Storage- Beyond one year of storage = per box (2"-100 isolates) $100.00, per rack (16, 2" boxes) $1500.00

Other dimensions, including racks to accommodate 15 mL or 50 mL conical tubes, and entire freezers, are available. Please contact the IAR for further details.

Ultra-low freezer space (-80C) may be utilized for storage, both long-term and short-term, of clinical or research samples by University researchers. All samples will be catalogued using the Repository inventory software. Freezer temperatures are monitored continuously by the IAR staff members are made aware of significant fluctuations in temperature.
