Griffin Lab

Climate Variability & Change | Dendrochronology | Environmental Dynamics

Our group studies climate, trees, water resources, and environmental dynamics. We are also involved in identification and mapping of old-growth forests for management, conservation, and science. Our research tools include dendrochronology, spatiotemporal numerical analyses and statistics, advanced geospatial technologies, and high-resolution multispectral imagery. In the Griffin Lab, we emphasize fieldwork, development of high-quality datasets, and hypothesis-driven research on timely, socially-relevant issues. We are one of several groups embedded within the Minnesota Center for Dendrochronology.
