Details about the enrollment process

The summer program is for high school students underrepresented in science and medicine who may be interested in career opportunities within a Neuroscience field. The program will provide useful and practical information for how to begin and succeed in those particular career paths.

The summer program is scheduled for the first week of August.

Each student is required to have a letter of reference from either a science teacher, an organization leader, or a church pastor. The reference will have to answer the following questions:

1. Name

2. Relationship to student

3. Contact information

4. We are looking to increase diversity in Neuroscience, what would this student bring to our program?

5. Signature

Student references can download the application form and email their responses to Go4Brains@umn.edu or they can can complete the survey below.

Application selection process

The students who are selected will require a letter of reference explaining why the student would be a good fit for the program followed by a short survey.

Students and their parents will have to complete the application survey and return the completed form via Qualtrics or email the form to Go4Brains@umn.edu

Enrollment deadline is on Wednesday, March 1, 2024.

The selection process will be assessed by an admission committee. Each application will be scored by three committee members. This score will determine if the student meets all the qualifications.

The students and parents will be notified of their acceptance into the program via email in April 2024.
