Welcome! I'm Effie Karfaki, a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at the University of Minnesota. My research interests lie in International Finance and Applied Macroeconomics, with a particular interest in exchange rates and monetary policy. My job market paper studies the 2015 Swiss franc appreciation, combining firm-level evidence with a small-open economy model to evaluate the welfare effects of exchange rate regimes.
