Directions and Parking
Minneapolis/St. Paul has one major airport (MSP) with two separate terminals; terminal one (or Lindbergh terminal) and terminal two (or Humphrey terminal). Terminal one services most major carriers, including Delta, United, and American Airlines. Terminal two services most charter carriers such as Sun Country and Southwest. The college is approximately 15 miles from the airport and a thirty-minute drive. Please allow extra time for rush hour traffic Monday through Friday.
Parking
Most of the Education Day activities (7:45 am to 1:45 pm) will take place in our Animal Science Veterinary Medicine building in room 135 on the St. Paul campus. The closest on-campus parking is available in the Gortner Avenue Ramp, a three to five-minute walk to the Animal Science Veterinary Medicine building. This ramp also includes disability parking and electric vehicle charging spots. Another good parking option can be found at lot S101. You can find a St. Paul campus map here.
Please do not park in the Small Animal Parking lot adjacent to the Veterinary Medical Center. This lot is by permit only and unauthorized vehicles will be ticketed and towed.
Transportation
Because many participants may wish to leave for home directly after touring the 2:00 - 4:00 pm in-person tour at the M Simulation center on the East Bank campus in Minneapolis, transportation is up to the individual participant. We recommend one of the options below:
Individual transportation by car - parking information for the M Simulation site in the Health Sciences Education Center (HSEC) building on Minneapolis campus can be found here (please note that parking rates are not covered by CVM).
Campus Connector (stop 44 on the East Bank campus). Please make sure to check the estimated transit times on the campus connector website, as the buses will operate on their summer schedule on May 17, and wait times may be around 20 minutes.
The interactive poster session will take place from 8:15am - 9:30am on Education Day May 17 2024 and will be an online-only event facilitated using Zoom breakout rooms from the main Education Day meeting posted above. This will require you to bring your own device if you are attending in-person. Breakout rooms are named after the presenters that will be available at that time and meeting participants will be able to choose which breakout room they want to visit to talk to poster presenters. The posters and the primary findings of each are available for you to view on the Poster 2024 page of this site. The poster session is intended for clarifying questions and brainstorming ideas so feel free to check them out before the poster session on Education Day. The breakout rooms will remain open throughout the duration of the poster session but poster presenters will only be in their rooms for conversations during their designated times.
