The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Enhancement and Enrichment Programming (DEEP) has been designed because we value the relationship and engagement that is fostered when we are able to spend “DEEP” time with each other (students and faculty). For this reason, we have developed an intensive day held one time each semester when all of our DNP students are on campus.
The Fall 2025 DEEP day will take place on Thursday, September 11, 2025 in the Great Hall, Coffman Memorial Union, and it will include a presentation and discussion by Amanda Peterson, MSN, CNP, AGACNP-BC, CCRN, a Pulmonary/Critical Care Nurse Practitioner and author of the award-winning book, Everybody Just Breathe: A COVID Nurse Memoir of Stamina and Swear Words. Please review the day's agenda.
Objectives:
By the conclusion of our time, students will be able to:
Understand the power of the personal narrative and how that relates to their own experience
Have renewed pride in our incredible role as nurses in healthcare
The objectives of DEEP include:
To foster learning and leadership as a member of the interprofessional healthcare team
To develop successful strategies for transitioning to the advanced nursing practice role
To enhance students' scholarly capabilities and success
To set the foundation for the legacy and generativity each student will carry forward post-graduation
To foster engagement with our community, mentors, faculty and preceptors
To support student wellbeing and resilience with specific actions and support
Note that not every objective will be addressed at every DEEP day, rather the objectives will be addressed throughout the DNP student experience.
Please return to this site after DEEP day to evaluate your experience. The Evaluation link will be available for students immediately after DEEP day.
