The six-session course has a curriculum focused on providing faculty members with the structured guidance and technical assistance needed to take their research and scholarship activities to the next level.

In alignment with medical school and DFMCH goals to increase faculty scholarship, CSI is structured to help participants add at least 2 scholarly projects to their curriculum vitae, including a presentation at the 2027 MAFP Innovation and Research Forum (or similar) and a manuscript submitted for peer review.
Specific goals for the course include:
Increased awareness of how to best utilize DFMCH and medical school research resources
Improved efficiency in completing all components of a research project
Enhanced and more proficient writing ability
Greater skill in initiating and managing collaborative work with colleagues
Improved ability to respond to peer review and become a constructive peer reviewer
Development of a manuscript to be submitted for peer review with a scientific journal
Disseminate work by presenting at the 2027 MAFP Innovation and Research Forum or other relevant conferences

The current plan is to hold the first session in person on campus, and the remaining sessions will be held virtually.
