The University of Minnesota received an $18.8M grant from the Helmsley Charitable Trust to fund the Minnesota AED Project. The Minnesota AED Project was designed to provide AEDs across the state of Minnesota to law enforcement agencies and first responders, aiming to increase cardiac arrest. The AED Recycle/Reuse program's mission is to distribute all donated AEDs to community locations through an application process. Each AED is checked and updated before placement. Since the launch of the project in 2022 over 650 AEDs have been distributed to community locations in Minnesota! If you'd like more information regarding AED Reuse, please click the link below!
