About Us
Carlson Ally Week was established with the hopes of promoting an inclusive community across all programs and departments. The scope is focused around allyship, and the many avenues it captures. This will include a week-long series of events, speakers, workshops, etc, focused on different forms and levels of allyship.
Goals:
Building supportive community within the Carlson School across all programs, staff, and faculty
Provide learning opportunities for students, staff and faculty around allyship
Provide a virtual learning aspect to the week to reach our distance learners
Committee’s definition on Ally:
An ally is someone whose personal commitment to fighting oppression and prejudice is reflected in willingness to:
1. Educate oneself about different identities and experiences,
2. Challenge one’s own discomfort and prejudices,
3. Learn and practice the skills of being an ally,
4. Take action to create interpersonal, societal and institutional change
Audience: Staff, Faculty, Students, and Alumni

Planning Committee
At the Carlson School, we believe that innovative education is driven by a diverse mix of backgrounds, experiences, and thought. Our vision is to prepare students to be global business leaders and challenge them to use business as a force for good by building a community that recognizes the value of diversity and inclusion and understands power, privilege, and inequity. However, we have a lot of work to do to make sure we as a business community can be true trailblazers by incorporating diversity, equity and inclusion in everything we do. We hope during this week you can begin and/or continue your journey as an ally and activist. Our goal was to create an engaging and positive experience where you can feel open to learn, reflect, participate, and grow.
