We evaluate the synergysm between microalgae and fungi, and exploit the potential of the mycoalgae biofilm in wastewater treatment, accumulation of high-value compounds, and nutrient recovery from effluent streams.
We also try to understand the mechanism and the fundamentals aspects lying on the attachment phenomena between algae and fungi.

Our focus is to increase the feeding value of DDGS by genetic engineering of yeast, as well as to provide a high-value stream by extracting phytate from thin stillage.
