I am professor at the Department of Geography, Environment, and Society, University of Minnesota-Twin Cities

I finished my Phd in Geography in 2003 at The Open University, United Kingdom, with Doreen Massey and Jennifer Robinson as advisors

I completed my undergraduate degree in Communication Studies in 1997 at the Free University of Brussels (VUB), Belgium, where I was Teaching Assistant and started my doctoral work

Over 2016-18 I was Arts, Design, and Humanities Chair of the Imagine Fund at our university and organized an event called Prince from Minneapolis

I was Senior Lecturer of Social Sustainability at Lancaster Environment Centre, Lancaster University, UK, over 2012-13. I've been visiting professor at a few institutions over the years, including Queen Mary University of London and Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia. The first half of 2018 I was visiting professor at the Institute of Cultural Inquiry, Utrecht University, The Netherlands

I live in the Powderhorn area of Minneapolis
