Amil Petrin is a microeconomist whose research primarily focuses on industrial organization, econometrics, and applied microeconomics. He is widely recognized for developing innovative empirical methodologies — most notably the "Levinsohn-Petrin" approach — used to estimate production functions and measure firm-level productivity and resource reallocation. Additionally, his work explores consumer demand models, the welfare gains from new products, and how market inefficiencies impact macroeconomic growth.
