Background for the protest provided by Humane World for Animals:
In 2016, Target pledged to sell only cage-free eggs and crate-free pork by 2025, but the company has failed to meet these goals and now shows no commitment to ending the inhumane confinement of farm animals. If Target honors the public pledges it made, millions of chickens and pigs would be spared from being locked in barren, filthy cages so small they can’t even spread their wings or turn around.
