Biography: Tendani Maumela is a Product Designer at Rank Interactive in South Africa, where she designs human-centred digital experiences grounded in research, strategy, and evidence-based design. She is also the founder of Equip and Inspire, a non-profit organisation focused on mentoring young people and strengthening community-based educational initiatives, and Bytecoder, an education platform that equips children with future-ready skills through technology, creativity, and problem-solving.
Tendani is currently pursuing an MBA at ESMT Berlin, building on a background in Computer Science, Information Systems, and Business Administration. Her work bridges design, education, entrepreneurship, and social innovation, with a particular interest in creating systems that expand opportunity and empower communities.
Her conference presentation explores the role of performance art as a decolonial pedagogical practice, examining how creative expression enables learners to critically engage with identity, culture, and knowledge while fostering more inclusive and transformative learning environments. Her broader interests include educational innovation, childhood development, and human-centred design.
