Biography: Mauricio Soares do Vale is a Professor of Basic, Technical, and Technological Education at the Federal Institute of Espírito Santo — Ifes. He holds a degree in Architecture and Urban Planning from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro — UFRJ, a Master’s degree in Architecture from PROARQ/UFRJ, and a Ph.D. in Cognition and Language from the State University of Northern Rio de Janeiro Darcy Ribeiro — UENF. He also holds specializations in Occupational Safety Engineering from Fluminense Federal University — UFF, Petroleum and Gas Engineering from the State University of Rio de Janeiro — UERJ, and Pedagogical Practices from Ifes. His research focuses on affirmative action policies, hetero-identification, ethnic-racial relations, anti-racist education, inclusion, and social justice. He works in public educational administration and institutional committees dedicated to racial equity, access, retention, and inclusion policies. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher in Education at the Federal University of Espírito Santo — UFES, investigating Black representation and public administration within Brazil’s Federal Network of Professional, Scientific, and Technological Education. His academic and institutional work integrates teaching, research, outreach, and administration, with an emphasis on racial and ethnic inequalities, human rights, democracy, diversity, and social justice.
