Biography: Dr. MayKao Y. Hang is Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, and Founding Dean, Morrison Family College of Health at the University of St. Thomas. St. Thomas is the largest private university in Minnesota. She successfully launched the Morrison Family College of Health, an interdisciplinary college that educates students to advance culturally relevant whole person health to advance health equity. Dr. Hang purpose-driven community organizing and social change work to address the social determinants of health has been transformational at the individual, family, organizational, and systems-level. Formerly, Dr. Hang was President and CEO of the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation for nearly a decade, where she improved the relevancy and impact of its direct services, research, and community capacity building programs. She has worked with immigrant and refugee populations both in Minnesota and in Thailand.
