Biography: Dr. Cong Liu is a composer, AI media artist, and interdisciplinary creative practitioner based in Minnesota. He holds a Ph.D. in Music Composition from the University of Minnesota, and his work connects music, generative AI, visual storytelling, immersive media, and culturally responsive community arts.   As a color-blind artist, Liu is interested in how people translate perception, memory, emotion, and identity across different expressive forms. His recent work explores generative AI as a tool for emotional expression, creative access, and cross-cultural communication. Through community-based projects and collaborations with Asian Media Access, he examines how artists can guide AI ethically to support mental wellness, reduce barriers to participation, and help diverse communities create shared visual and narrative experiences. o producing rigorous, policy-relevant research that supports more accountable, inclusive, and equitable public systems.
