Biography: Bethany Winkels serves as the Secretary Treasurer of the Minnesota AFL-CIO - elected in 2025 after serving as Executive Director prior. She believes that knocking on doors and face to face organizing is central to building the world we all deserve. Bethany is a dedicated trade unionist who specializes in strategic campaigns. She has helped deliver electoral and legislative wins, including Minnesota’s Paid Family and Medical Leave program. Bethany grew up in western Minnesota and appreciates the prairie more thanmost. She is a proud graduate of Wellesley College. Bethany lives with her family in Eagan, Minnesota.
