Showcasing at the fair?
GENERAL/STATIC PROJECTS (Art, plants, photos, etc.) - Encourage your child to bring a project to the showcase this summer July 22nd.
Youth have the opportunity to showcase what they've made for the week of fair in the 4-H Exhibit Hall (Located in the back room of the 4-H Food Stand & Dairy Bar). A judge (most often an elementary teacher) will do a little interview with your child about how they did their project and encourage them to introduce themselves. Cloverbuds is noncompetitive as research shows this age is not quite ready for competition. They receive a green ribbon and premium for participating. This is a great way to build skills and give them the opportunity to share the hard work they are doing outside of school (baking, working with their animal, doing art, planting, etc.)

What is a 4-H project and exhibit?
A project is a chosen area of learning where a youth is on a learning journey with that area of interest (spark). A project can be showcased through an exhibit during the county fair. Cloverbuds are able to have a conference talk with a judge (usually a teacher) who will help them with introducing themselves and talking some about their project. A few common Cloverbud projects are crafts, fine arts, and gardening, but there are many other areas of interest they can explore in 4-H. EXAMPLES - An example of a project a youth might explore could be the fine art of painting. An example of an exhibit to bring to fair for that fine art project area would be a canvas painting of a flower. Cloverbuds are given a green ribbon and a participation premium. Cloverbuds at the fair is a non-competitive experience to get their feet wet. Exhibit specs/requirements are found in the Roseau County 4-H Premium Book that is updated each year. The 2023 premium book is coming this spring.
