10,000 FAMILIES STUDY

About Us

The 10,000 Families Study (10KFS) is a growing family research study trying to understand how genetics, lifestyle and the environment affect our health. Research is led by multidisciplinary faculty in the University of Minnesota Schools of Medicine and Public Health and is closely integrated with the Masonic Cancer Center.

As one of the five national new awardees, 10KFS is undertaking a new Cohort for Environmental Exposures and Cancer Risk (CEECR) grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The award provides funding to investigate radon and chemicals of concern in the environment, including in drinking water which are suspected risk factors for hematologic cancers.
