All talks will be delivered live over Zoom in meeting mode. Please consult the program for the schedule of talks and their duration. If you are a presenter, please plan your presentation to not exceed the time allotted and please leave 10-15% of the allocated time window for questions.
Each day will end with a 30 minute open discussion, which will allow for deeper followup on the earlier topics.
Poster sessions and breaks will be held in the Gathertown meeting service. There is no software download required. We'll provide Gathertown training sessions, see information below. You can also view Gathertown's tutorial page.
Poster presenters will be given an oral presentation time slot of two minutes each to summarize their projects. Poster presenters are expected to stay within their Gathertown poster space for all poster sessions, whether these sessions are before or after the two minute oral presentation.

Participants: We expect tens of people at each zoom session. Please remember to mute your microphone. You'll be able to ask questions or make comments after the talk. We will also be monitoring the chat continuously; you can post questions and comments.
Presenters: Presenters will share their own screens. Please use the 'presentation mode', having your slide occupy the entire screen. Generally, we prefer that presenters have their cameras turned on. Please make sure you have no bandwidth limitations. If you suspect limitations, please connect with phone or audio only and we'll be happy to project the slides. Please stay on time.
We are using two video conferencing applications: Zoom for the presentations, and Gathertown for the breaks and poster. We ask that you only have one application open at a time. Please exit the Gathertown meeting when heading to Zoom and vice versa. Running the applications simultaneously can create feedback, which will disrupt the environments for all participants.

Gathertown works best with Firefox or Chrome. The Safari version is still in development. Not all features may work properly.
Gathertown Training:There will be two one-hour training sessions provided for gathertown:
Friday May 7, 2-3 pm Central Time
Tuesday May 11, 2-3 pm Central Time
To access the training session go to the workshop Gathertown environment.
You can are invited to meet workshop participants, and train on Gathertown, during the hour before the workshop begins, between 8 and 8:40 am on Wednesday May 12.
Here is a Gathertown instruction sheet.
Presenters must upload their contributions by 23:59 CDT on May 9th to the workshop Dropbox. Materials will be posted on the workshop website.
Please name each file submission with your first name, last name, and the type of submission with underscores in between. For example, a poster should be named Jane_Doe_Poster.pdf. Avoid including videos in your uploads. The quality of screenshared videos is low and their file sizes are large.
Please submit your presentation in PDF, pptx, or keynote. You will be able to project your presentation by sharing your own screen, but we ask that you upload a copy in case of technical difficulties. In case of network issues, we will project and advance the slides.
Please upload your poster in PDF format. Please upload the slides for your two minute presentation in your preferred format. Poster presenters must attend one of the two Gathertown training sessions, as basic familiarity with Gathertown is required to access the poster and present it.
