Born in Felda Bersia, Gerik, Perak in 1969, Associate Professor Ahamad Tarmizi Azizan, also known as Atan AF, is a visionary educator and artist whose journey bridges the worlds of art, technology, and education. Starting his career as a police constable, his passion for learning and the arts led him to become a teacher, an academic, and an innovator in digital creative education.
With academic credentials from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) and international experience in Indonesia, he has built a multidisciplinary expertise in art education, digital art, generative AI, design theory, and cultural heritage. His leadership includes roles as Dean at UMK and International Auditor for AQAS Germany.
Atan AF is also the founder of ASEDAS International and a pioneer in establishing Malaysia's first Digital Art Studio & Gallery on the East Coast. He has led numerous exhibitions, research initiatives, and international collaborations, making significant contributions to curriculum development and digital art advocacy.
His legacy lies in his ability to merge creativity, innovation, and educational excellence—empowering the next generation of digital artists across Southeast Asia and beyond.
