BrightBuds values the privacy and safety of its users, especially children. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when using the BrightBuds mobile application.
BrightBuds is designed to support children with ADHD through tools such as task tracking, mood monitoring, journaling, and therapist-assigned Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) exercises.
The application is used by three types of users:
Therapists
Parents or Guardians
Children (managed accounts)
When therapists register for BrightBuds, the following information may be collected:
Full name
Email address
This information is used to:
Create and manage therapist accounts
Allow therapists to connect with children already registered in the system
Enable therapists to assign CBT exercises and monitor progress
Parents or guardians must create an account to manage their child's use of the application.
The information collected includes:
Full name
Email address
This information is used to:
Create and manage parent accounts
Allow parents to add and manage their child's tasks
Monitor their child's emotional progress
Confirm therapist-assigned CBT exercises
Provide parental supervision for exercises and activities
Parents can add and manage up to 10 tasks for their child within the application.
Children's accounts are managed by a parent or guardian and may be accessed by an assigned therapist.
Information associated with a child account may include:
Task completion progress
Mood tracking information
Journal entries related to emotional regulation
Participation in CBT exercises assigned by a therapist
Activity progress within the app
This information is used to:
Help parents and therapists understand the child’s emotional development
Monitor progress in tasks and therapy-related exercises
Provide structured support for emotional regulation
Children do not directly create accounts or provide personal contact information.
Therapists can connect to an existing child account in the database with authorization. Once connected, therapists may:
View task progress
View mood tracking information
View journal entries
Assign CBT exercises
Monitor exercise completion
Therapists cannot create child accounts but can manage therapy-related activities once access is granted.
The information collected in BrightBuds is used only to:
Operate and maintain the application
Enable therapist-child-parent collaboration
Track emotional progress and task completion
Provide CBT-based exercises
Improve emotional regulation support for children
Ensure proper parental monitoring of therapy activities
We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties.
BrightBuds takes reasonable measures to protect user information from unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure.
Security measures may include:
Secure authentication systems
Database access control
Restricted access based on user roles (therapist, parent)
Only authorized users (parents and assigned therapists) can access a child’s information.
BrightBuds is designed for children but requires parental or guardian supervision.
Children cannot create accounts independently.
Parents control the child’s account.
Therapists can only access a child’s information once connected to that account.
The application does not collect personal contact information directly from children.
BrightBuds does not sell, trade, or rent user information.
Information may only be shared between:
The child’s parent or guardian
The assigned therapist
This sharing is necessary to support therapy progress and emotional monitoring.
User information is stored only as long as necessary to:
Maintain accounts
Track progress
Provide therapeutic support through the application
Users may request deletion of their accounts and associated data on the email brightbudsdev@gmail.com.
Parents and therapists have the right to:
Access their account information
Request corrections to inaccurate data
Request deletion of their accounts and associated data
Parents may also manage or remove their child’s data within the application.
BrightBuds may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect improvements or legal requirements.
Users will be notified of significant changes through updates within the application or documentation.
