ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Application for admission (Form 2.1).
Title or exam certificate for a Master of Science in the biological area or related disciplines.
Certificate of qualifications for the Master of Science (Minimum grade of 8.0 or equivalent).
Curriculum Vitae of the applicant that includes supporting documents.
Proof of the result of the EXANI III-CENEVAL exam (Minimum score of 1000).
Proof of the result of the TOEFL English language proficiency exam or equivalent proof issued by the Department of Languages of the UMSNH (testimony with a minimum score of 450, valid for less than 24 months).
Preliminary thesis draft in a document with a length of 5 to 10 pages, endorsed by the possible Thesis Director (member of the DSEB). It must consist of an introduction, justification, explicit hypothesis, objectives, general methodology, cited literature and a schedule of activities that shows the feasibility of concluding the research work and presenting the degree exam in the time established as the maximum duration of the program (eight semesters). ).
Commitment letter from the applicant declaring full-time dedication to the doctoral program (Form 3). If the applicant has an affiliation as a professor, researcher or employee in an educational institution, private or government institution, a document must be attached that proves that his institution of affiliation will support him with permission and complete academic discharge during his stay in the institution. program (4 years).
Submit a letter of intent from the potential Thesis Director in which the willingness and commitment to advise and direct the applicant until obtaining the degree is clearly established (Form 8). The letter must clearly document the availability of infrastructure and resources that the applicant will have to carry out their research.
Present three academic references from researchers with whom you have worked or know your performance.
For foreign students, in addition to the relevant academic and institutional requirements, the corresponding immigration authorization must be presented in accordance with article 72 of the General Regulations for Postgraduate Studies (RGEP).
Students graduating from the Master of Science in Experimental Biology (MSEB) may have direct admission to the DSEB according to the requirements established in current regulations.
All documentation must be presented printed and digitized on a CD or USB. Incomplete files will not be evaluated.
ADMISSION PROCESS:
Applicants must register on the portal https://siiaapp.siia.umich.mx/aspi/comienzoposgrado and deliver their documents to the graduate office of the Chemical Biological Research Institute-UMSNH, located in building B1 of Ciudad Universitaria, Morelia Michoacan.
Documents will be received from the date of publication of the call, with a deadline of July 19, 2024.
Candidates will be interviewed individually by a selection committee, before whom they must present their preliminary thesis project for a maximum of 20 minutes. The selection committee will rule on the suitability of your entry into the program.
UMSNH MCBE graduates will be accepted directly into the program by presenting a letter of relevance issued by the Coordinator of the master's program (article 2 of the DCBE Complementary Standards).
The admission results will be communicated to the applicant electronically within a maximum of 8 business days from the interview.
The DCBE belongs to the SNP of CONAHCYT (005992) and accepted students may apply for postgraduate scholarships from that federal organization.
