We welcome Ph.D. applicants who are interested in power electronics, renewable energy generation, transportation electrification, advanced energy storage systems, and related fields, as well as industry professionals:
Requirements
Basics
Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, including but not limited to Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Science Engineering, etc.
Proficiency in English communication and writing.
Applicants meeting any one or more of the following criteria will be prioritized:
Experience in the design of power electronics circuits, magnetics design, and power-circuits testing.
Experience with embedded control (such as DSP, FPGA) of power electronics, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation, programming, and debugging.
Strong foundation in applied mathematics, with a background in control or optimization, and an interest in applying algorithms to electrical systems.

Undergraduate Students
We are always delighted to welcome undergraduate students who are interested in conducting research projects with us. We believe that working with students can bring a fresh perspective and new ideas to our team, and we are committed to providing an inclusive and supportive environment for all our researchers. Ideally, we are looking for students who can commit to working with us for at least one semester. This will allow you to gain valuable experience, get involved in ongoing projects, and make a meaningful contribution to our research goals.

Graduate Students
We are actively seeking motivated graduate students from diverse backgrounds, such as electrical engineering, power and energy engineering, applied mathematics, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, and more to join our research group. Visiting Students/Scholars
We welcome visiting students/scholars who are interested in collaborating with us. Ideally, students/scholars will be able to visit for a minimum of six months (preferably one year) to maximize the opportunity for collaboration and research. We can accommodate in-person/virtual visits but the funding is not guaranteed and self-funded visiting is preferred. If you are interested in exploring the possibility of working with us, please email Dr. Cui with a subject line as “Visiting <your name>”.

The availability of postdoctoral positions varies depending on the funding conditions.
